Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the SkinRead app provided by Speakwise GmbH (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using SkinRead, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app. You must be at least 16 years old to use SkinRead.

2. Cosmetic, not medical — important

SkinRead provides cosmetic, informational guidance only. It is NOT medical advice, NOT a diagnosis, and is NOT a substitute for a dermatologist or other qualified healthcare professional. Results are cosmetic estimates generated from a photo and can vary with lighting, angle and image quality. Do not rely on SkinRead for any medical decision. If you have a health concern about your skin, consult a qualified professional.

3. Subscriptions, prices & cancellation

SkinRead offers an auto-renewing subscription, sold and billed through your Apple Account (Apple App Store). The current plans are:

The 7-day free trial is available on annual plans only. Monthly and weekly plans have no trial. Prices are charged in your local currency as shown in the App Store and may vary by region and applicable tax.

Renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged at confirmation of purchase and again at each renewal. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

4. Acceptable use

• Use the app only for your own skin and only with images and recordings you have the right to use.
• Do not misuse, reverse-engineer, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app.
• Do not upload unlawful, infringing or harmful content.

5. Your content & privacy

Your face images, scan results and any voice recordings are handled as described in our Privacy Policy, including processing by third-party AI providers — Google Gemini (face-image skin analysis) and Deepgram (voice transcription). By using the app you acknowledge that these features require sending your inputs to those providers.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its content and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law, including any warranty that results are accurate, reliable or fit for a particular purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any decisions made in reliance on the app's cosmetic estimates. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Changes to the app or Terms

We may modify the app or these Terms. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The “last updated” date reflects the latest version.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected. For merchants, the place of jurisdiction is Osnabrück, Germany, to the extent legally permissible.
