Data Deletion

You are in control of your data, and you can erase it at any time. This page explains how, and covers your right to erasure under Article 17 GDPR.

SkinRead has no user accounts. There is no registration and no login, so there is no account to close — your scans, coach history and answers are stored on your device, and deleting them in the app (or removing the app) erases them.

Option 1 — Delete in the app (one tap)

• Open SkinRead and go to Settings.
• Tap Delete all data.
• Confirm. Your scans, results and profile data are removed from your device.

Option 2 — Delete by email

You can also send an erasure request (Art. 17 GDPR) to nico@skinread.app. Please describe what you would like erased.

Be aware of an honest limitation: because there is no account and our service telemetry holds no identifier of any kind, there is usually nothing on our servers that can be linked to you. Where that is the case we will tell you so, and explain exactly what is and is not technically possible.

What gets deleted

• Your scan results and images stored on your device.
• Your AI coach conversation history stored on your device.
• Your onboarding answers stored on your device.

Third-party processing — an honest note

Generating results requires sending your face image to Google Gemini for skin analysis, your AI coach messages to Google Gemini for coach replies, and your voice recordings to Deepgram for transcription. We cannot delete, on your behalf, data already processed by these providers, and we cannot guarantee their retention periods. Deleting in SkinRead removes data from your device and from our systems where applicable; it does not control the providers' independent retention. See our Privacy Policy for detail.

Separately, limited advertising/attribution data (e.g. whether you installed SkinRead after seeing an ad — never your photos, skin data, voice or coach chat) is shared with Meta and TikTok to measure ads. This is controlled by your App Tracking Transparency choice and governed by their policies; you can deny or revoke tracking in iOS Settings.

Processing time

In-app deletion takes effect immediately on your device. Email requests are answered within one month, as required by Art. 12(3) GDPR.
